The National kidsREAD programme (kidsREAD in short) is a nationwide reading programme officially launched on 23 April 2004 by then Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. kidsREAD is a collaborative effort by the National Library Board (NLB) together with the People’s Association (PA) and five self-help groups to promote the love of reading and cultivate good reading habits among young Singaporeans, specifically children from low-income families. The target audience of kidsREAD is children between the ages of 4 and 8, regardless of race or religion.

Kampong Chai Chee CC KidsRead Club

The club is currently managed by the Kampong Chai Chee Youth Executive Committee with a pool of volunteers from all walks of life.

Session details:

Junior and Senior club

Every Saturday

Time: 10am to 11.30am

Venue: Kampong Chai Chee CC

Eligibility:

1. Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

2. Child age between 4 to 8 years old 

3. gross monthly household income not exceeding $6,000 or per capita income not exceeding $1500.
